Know who you are.
As God’s adopted child …
You are loved. Now. (“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom. 5:8, NIV)
You are holy and blameless. Now. (“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” Eph. 1:4, NIV)
You are priceless. Now. (the “Son of God … loved me and gave himself for me.” Gal. 2:20, NIV [emphasis mine])
Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. will change who you are in Christ. You are forever loved by your Father. (“For I am convinced that neither death nor life … nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 8:38, NIV).
Know who you are. Read God’s Word. learn who you are in Christ. Repeat to yourself again and again who you truly are through Christ. Praise God for the lengths He went to make you His Own. Let it sink in deep … and deeper still. This is how God sees you. this is who you really are.
And let how God sees you in Christ (the real you) shine. Don’t hold it in. Become who you are.
God tells us how to live as those who are precious and loved. His commands aren’t just rules. They outline how a person who knows she’s loved and valued will live. They tell us how to become who we are.
Through joy and heartache, revelation and confusion, laughter and tears … who you are in Christ never changes.
So right now, whether you feel this truth or not, soak it in … and then live it out.
