“Out of my distress {all my stress and unrest} I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free {free from all the stress and worry and fear that comes with trying to “play God”}. The LORD is on my side {I am a child of God; He will work this all out for my ultimate good – Rom 8; am I fighting with Him?}; I will not fear {when trust God as God what do I have to fear?}. What can man do to me {God justified me; He won’t let anyone condemn me – Rom. 8}.” Psalm 118:5-6, ESV

trust. acknowledge. fear. the LORD. always and in everything. “It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.” Proverbs 3:5-6, ESV

“In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence …” (Prov. 14:26, ESV) {confidence is not about puffing up self, but kneeling under God’s “mighty hand” giving Him all you worries, letting Him be God in them – 1 Pet. 5:5-7}

“The heart of man plans his ways {which is not bad per se}; but the LORD determines his steps {trust God to be God in the smoky haze of unexpected change; don’t resist God’s perfect plans – James 4:13-17}.” Proverbs 16:9, ESV

“For God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7, ESV

God’s love in action -> confessing Jesus. God abiding. intimately knowing God’s love. dwelling of Love Himself in us. perfecting of love in us. confidence in Christ’s righteousness in us. fear being thrown out by perfect love. (1 John 4:7-21)

love God with your all and love others as yourself. the rest of God’s commands hang on these two. (Matt 22:34-40)

don’t hide this gift of love and grace your Master gave you. don’t let fear paralyze you. set your mind to truly knowing your Master and what pleases Him. whatever you’ve been entrusted with, use it here, now for the honor of Him Who gave it. (Matt 25:14-30)

“Hallelujah, we are free to struggle
We’re not struggling to be free
Your blood bought and makes us children
Children drop your chains and sing.” ~ The Struggle, Tenth Avenue North

singing is living rejoicing, worshiping, serving the One who set us free.

“Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God.”  ~ Indescribable, Chris Tomlin

~fear. love. freedom. singing~
